NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY

our newborn session will be styled from our collection of blankets, wraps, hand-knit bonnets, and dainty headbands. We only book a limited number of newborn sessions each month to ensure availability and our high quality of service. If you are expecting, it’s never too early to reserve your newborn session.

When should I call to schedule my newborn session?

Before your baby is born! It is so important to plan ahead. Capturing your newborn within the first two weeks of life, while they are still sleepy and curled up, can make all the difference in your newborn portraits. However, if you have passed that time, don’t worry I will be able to deliver beautiful photos of your child regardless!  Since we never really know when your little one will arrive, we put you on our calendar to hold a spot for you. When your baby is born, we will move your appointment accordingly.

Is one week old too early for my newborn session?

Absolutely not! Newborn babies photograph best between 4-10 days old. At this point, they are still very sleepy and like to curl up as if they were still in the womb. I take between 2 to 3 hours for a newborn session and leave plenty of time for feedings, diaper changes, and breaks for mommy and baby. Come as soon as you are ready, I can’t wait to meet your new little one!

What should I bring to my session?

please bring your own changing kit and feeding kit. I do strongly recommend bringing a pacifier on the shoot.

How should I prepare for my newborn session?

The goal is for the baby to be and stay asleep during the photoshoot. The few hours leading to the shoot, please try to keep him engaged and tired. If possible, please feed the baby right before your session to avoid feeding during the shoot. Please dress him/her in large and easy-to-remove clothes so we don’t upset the baby while changing outfits. Please avoid vaccination and stress before coming to the shoot.
